The small East Sussex market town of Heathfield lies equidistant between Eastbourne to the south and Tunbridge Wells to the north, surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Over the centuries Heathfield — or Heffle as it was originally called — has achieved fame as the place where Jack Cade was killed after trying to overthrow King Henry VI.
It is also the birthplace of Robert Hunt, the first Protestant minister to preach in America. During the 16th and 17th centuries, Heathfield became an important centre of the iron industry. With the arrival of the railway in , known locally as the Cuckoo Line, the centre of Heathfield moved from the picturesque village now known as Old Heathfield to its present location — hence its Victorian and Edwardian architectural characteristics.
Heathfield Updated January 09, Every individual person has different motivations for working at a job. The reasons for working are as individual as the person. But, all people work because the workplace provides something that you need from work. Here are thoughts about employee motivation, what people want from work, and how you can help employees attain what they need for their work motivation. Work IS about the Money Some people work for their love of the work; others work for personal and professional fulfillment.
Some people have personal missions they accomplish through meaningful work. Others truly love what they do or the clients they serve. Some like the camaraderie and interaction with customers and coworkers. Other people like to fill their time with activity.

Emma Activities and the Social Programme Heathfield offers girls a fun-packed and educational social programme through a range of activities, balancing creative, artistic and sporting options.
Many of these activities are shared with the British girls on Summer Camp so overseas girls can practise their English. We change what is on offer from week to week and students can choose from a variety of junior and senior options. These include art, crafts, photography, drama, music, floristry, hair and beauty and a whole range of field, water and racquet sports.
There are also big school events such as quizzes, treasure hunts, discos, film night and Scottish and English country dancing. By the end of her stay at Heathfield, a summer student might have baked a chocolate brownie, made soap, turned a somersault on the trampoline, created a beautiful flower arrangement, tried cricket, danced to the sound of the Scottish bag pipes or a hip-hop track, worn her own fashion creations on the cat-walk, produced a painting on glass, learned how to roll a kayak and enjoyed a relaxing hour of yoga!
The Big Conversation, Question Time and Film Club are wonderful cross-cultural events and our Chill Out room offers an informal setting for girls to relax, chat, play games and read magazines. Festivals and Shows We believe in getting all the girls involved in whole-school events which will give them a new range of experiences while working together, using their English and developing new skills. Our Festival Afternoons, where staff offer a range of different themed activities, and Evening Shows, in which girls create their own performances, are extremely popular with the students.

Middlesex — Middlesex is a historic county in south-east England. It is now entirely within the wider urbanised area of London and its area is now also mostly within the ceremonial county of Greater London, with small sections in other neighbouring ceremonial counties. It was established in the Anglo-Saxon system from the territory of the Middle Saxons, the largely low-lying county, dominated by clay in its north and alluvium on gravel in its south, was the second smallest county by area in The City of London was a county in its own right from the 12th century and was able to exert control over Middlesex.
Westminster Abbey dominated most of the financial, judicial and ecclesiastical aspects of the county. As London grew into Middlesex, the Corporation of London resisted attempts to expand the city boundaries into the county, in the 18th and 19th centuries the population density was especially high in the southeast of the county, including the East End and West End of London. From the southeast was administered, with sections of Kent and Surrey, the City of London, and Middlesex, became separate counties for other purposes and Middlesex regained the right to appoint its own sheriff, lost in In the interwar years suburban London expanded further, with improvement and expansion of public transport, after the Second World War, the population of the County of London and inner Middlesex was in steady decline, with high population growth continuing in the outer parts.
Since various areas called Middlesex have been used for cricket, Middlesex was the former postal county of 25 post towns.

Fore Street, Kingsteignton February The retained shop frontage in this terraced property is an attractive feature in a street otherwise dominated by double yellow lines. The sediment included clay derived from decomposed granite, which is purer and more refined than many others and has been used in several different types of product, particularly in ceramic wares. The clay pits and surface waste around Teigngrace are very visible in the landscape looking north from Highweek churchyard.
Originally, packhorses carried the clay on a slow seven or eight mile journey from the pits to the nearest port at Teignmouth. This journey was shortened when storage buildings known as cellars were built at Hackney quay at the head of the Teign estuary, where the clay was either loaded directly into small coastal sailing vessels or taken down the estuary by barge to larger sailing vessels moored in Teignmouth harbour.

Lean To Lean-to Conservatories Often referred to as a sunroom or garden room, lean-to conservatories bring a taste of the Mediterranean to your home. Traditional or contemporary, this style is ideal for properties with limited space under the eaves or an awkward area in which to fit a conservatory. The pitch of the roof is variable, so that a shallow pitch could fit under a low bungalow roof, whilst a steeper pitch would match the roof of a terraced house.
History Dating as far back as the Georgian era, the lean-to has evolved from a functional greenhouse protecting delicate plants and vegetables from the harsh British winters to an elegant extension where during the long summer days one can relax and enjoy its wonderful peaceful environment. With its distinct single pitched roof and rectangular shape this conservatory is ideal for any dwelling from the traditional manor house to the modern day bungalow. The lean-to style conservatory has a vast range of options which can be personalised to suit every situation and circumstances.
